After two years of consulting with the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Rockcastle has worked with the design team to propose a daylight concept for their campus expansion. A scaled physical model of the dropped ‘cloud’ ceiling shows how direct sunlight is filtered from the network of overhead skylights, creating diverse patterns of direct and diffuse light on the entry way and main circulation spaces. Daylight is used to animate and guide visitors through the lobby, connecting them from reception to the main campus. More information on this project can be found here.
