A full-length research paper by Siobhan Rockcastle, Kynthia Chamilothori, and Marilyne Andersen has been accepted for presentation at Building Simulation 2017. The paper, titled ‘An Experiment in Virtual Reality to Measure Daylight-Driven Interest in Rendered Architectural Scenes,’ presents the results from a recent collaborative experiment. Using the Oculus Rift CV1, the experiment used a series of rendered daylit architectural spaces and collected subjective responses alongside head-tracking data from a population of subjects. That data was then compared to metrics designed to predict visual interest between a range of view directions and sky conditions in each space.
